Ironically my daughter was told by uncheat's star pitcher . . . .

at a clinic almost 20 years ago that "if you intend to walk a batter don't throw 4 pitches, just hit her." I only know of one intentional 'pinging' in her career and it was in a scrimmage against a hated volleyball rival. There were others, that weren't intentional but the result of throwing in on power hitters in situations when a HBP was not a particularly bad outcome :)
